How much should I take?
We suggest you introduce this therapeutic superfood to you and your animal(s) slowly. If you (or your animal) have any health challenges, such as sensitive stomach, irritable bowel symptoms, kidney or liver compromise, high blood pressure, heart problems or a sensitive body, we suggest a more gradual introduction (i.e., one capsule BSF for humans and ¼-½ capsule BioPreparation for animals-see special instructions for cats) per day for ten days to see how the body responds. If the body readily accepts the superfood product, then slowly increase by one capsule (½ capsule for animals) every ten days thereafter up to the desired dosage. The average adult (4–6 capsules/day) and animal dosage (1–2 capsules/day) is a starting point for a subject in good health. Every body is different and it is important to listen to your (or the animal’s) body. Remember, drink plenty of pure water to flush out your body’s toxins.

Adjust the dosage depending on your diet, activity level and health status. Athletes or people with health challenges may need a higher dose. Children should start with half the suggested adult dosage (or less) and then adjust upwards. For animals, please contact us and we will share our nutritional experiences.

Can I continue to take herbs, vitamins and supplements?
It is fine to continue with previous supplements. You eventually may not need to take as much because superfood products provide lots of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. As this super nutrition wakes up your body, the intestines are cleansed and your body will become more efficient needing less nutrient supplementation.

It is not a good idea to start a cleansing program at the same time you start taking a superfood product since it is very cleansing itself. Starting a colon-cleansing program or some detoxifying herbs at the same time as a superfood product could produce too much cleansing. With animals, it is not a good idea to introduce a new supplement at the same time as other dietary changes. Do one thing at a time to monitor the results.

What if I forget to take the product when I am supposed to?
Since superfood products improve digestion, it is best to take it with meals but it will benefit you no matter when you take it. Rather than skip a dose, go ahead and take it between meals if you forget during the meal. For maximum results, spread out a superfood product in equal doses throughout the day (e.g., take 1–2 capsules every meal for a total of 3–6/day).

How long will it take before I notice results?
Some people notice dramatic changes the first week while others notice gradual changes over several months. People who are healthy may not notice anything dramatic but then realize after a few months that they are sleeping less or that they have cut a minute off their running time or their hair is thicker and shinier. Some people notice a general feeling of well being and others noticed they have not gotten sick while taking their superfood products. The changes can be subtle and take a while to occur.

Some animals respond almost immediately to superfood products while others might take several weeks or months depending on their health condition. Some beneficial signs of superfood products to look for are:

• Shinier, silkier coat
• More energy, more playful
• More flexibility—able to jump up on furniture or go up & down stairs easier

I took the superfood product a month or two and didn’t notice anything so should I stop taking it?
A superfood product is not a “magic pill” to take for a month or two to see if it cures all your ills. A superfood product is concentrated nutrition we need but usually do not get in our diet. Taking a superfood product is like changing the oil in your car—preventive maintenance. If your doctor told you to eat more fruits and vegetables to improve your nutrition, would you stop doing it after a month just because you did not see a dramatic improvement in your health?

Superfood products such as micro-algae are not only a whole food, but also are a highly concentrated superfood delivering much more nutrients, antioxidants, etc. per gram when compared to other foods. The developer of BioSuperfood, Dr. Kiriac, states that “one jar of micro algae concentrate equals 12 truckloads of alfalfa”. Therefore, the benefits from taking this concentrated product cannot be equaled by simply eating a healthy diet or taking regular supplements.

Why is my digestion affected?
A superfood will excite the body with its super nutritious ingredients. Incomplete digestion, sluggish intestines and a clogged bowel are all conditions that will benefit from this increased efficiency. However, the old plaque and gunk coating these organs must first be cleaned out. Gas, bloating, loose stools or any change in bowel movements are a sign the body is cleaning out first. Once this passes the body will be able to absorb more nutrients from food and supplements and be more efficiently eliminate wastes and toxins.

Why do I have signs of excessive detoxing?
Excessive signs of detoxing (e.g., increased thirst, rash, itching and loose stools or diarrhea) are not side effects but signs that your body is responding to the superfood product. When this occurs one can:

1. Stop taking the supplement all together.
2. Stop taking the supplement until the worsening symptoms go away. Then start taking the supplement again in a more gradual dosage (e.g., ½-1.0 capsule/day for 10 days) and less cleansing.
3. Continue taking the supplement (or even increasing the dosage) to feed the body as it processes the healing crisis more aggressively.

It all depends on the individual’s (or animal’s) constitution. Obviously, if the symptoms are serious (e.g., diarrhea or vomiting) always consult a doctor or veterinarian. If an animal should get diarrhea, it is best to stop the product immediately until the animal’s system stabilizes. Once the animal is back to normal, then start the product again, only in smaller doses. Increase the dosage more gradually and wait 5–7 days between each increase. It is dangerous for an animal to have diarrhea for too long since they can become dehydrated.

Why did I get sick after starting the superfood product?
Triggering a healing crisis after starting a new superfood product is common. The imbalance or illness was already present in your body but without symptoms. Chronic low-grade infections or viruses sometime reside in the body appearing only when your immune system is compromised (e.g., fatigue or stress). When you boost your immune system by taking a superfood product your body can now stabilize this imbalance and expel the source. One can either take more of the superfood product to further support your immune system and get over the illness quicker or take less of the superfood product if your symptoms are too unbearable. The choice is up to you. Rest assured that you have triggered your body’s own natural ability to heal.
