In younger animals with chronic and degenerative conditions, we sometimes use BP-F3+ first and then after the symptoms reach a reasonable level or are eliminated, either add or switch to BP-F2+ as the body heals itself. That is the big difference between true holistic products and natural but allopathically formulated products. With other “holistic” (natural but not entirely holistic) products one must increase the dosage or strength over time.

Manufacturer's suggested directions: Take 4 to 16 capsules daily with 8 to 10 eight ounce glasses of pure water. The average adult people dose is 4-6 capsules/day and for pets 1-2 capsules/day depending on size, diet and lifestyle.

Since BioSuperfood is such a therapeutic product, we suggest introducing it to your body slowly. We suggest starting with one capsule per day with a meal for people. Stay with this dosage for about 3–5 days and if your body has adapted without any problems, gradually increase the dosage every 3-5 days by another capsule per day (taken with meals) up to that suggested by your practitioner. The average adult dosage is 4–6 capsules per day. Those with a sensitive body or very healthy diet may want to take less. Those with serious health challenges can take more (10-25 capsules per day) as the body allows.

While allopathically it is true, to get rid of symptoms, taking the more therapeutic formula is better, therapeutic strength is not always what the body needs to attain total wellness. Therapeutic (detoxifying) strength can be a disadvantage if one has high blood pressure, heart condition or compromised kidneys or liver.* For chronic conditions we find taking a lower dosage (or formula) at more frequent intervals works better than blasting the body with a higher dosage (or formula). We literally have to change our allopathic ways and linear thinking of taking supplements to match symptoms in order to accept this quantum leap in holistic wellness that BSF/BP offers us. As far as therapeutic potency goes, Formula 3 is 5X more potent therapeutically than Formula 2 but that doesn’t necessarily mean Formula 3 is 5X better for your body. When working holistically we need to avoid measuring a formula’s (product’s) value by its therapeutic strength (power) and look more at its therapeutic value towards balancing rather than blasting the whole body (especially for chronic, systemic, endocrine and immune systems, and brain conditions).

One diabetic took one capsule BSF-F3 every hour for three months and was able to reduce, then eliminate his medication. This technique has also worked for thyroid patients in reducing their need for medication. That is why taking BSF-F2 at more frequent hourly intervals could be just as good as or even better than blasting your body with 8-10 F3 capsules taken twice per day. By taking BSF at frequent intervals, one literally is retraining the master glands of the brain and entire endocrine system to handle the daily stress, blood sugar levels, pollution, energy level bursts and dips of daily living.

Too much, too fast!

If you (or your pet) has undergone recent surgery, is under any type of prescription drug program, undergoing chemotherapy/radiation treatment or has actively growing tumors, we suggest a very gradual introduction to BioSuperfood/BioPreparation. We have seen both people and pets get too much BioSuperfood/BioPreparation, too fast in the beginning (in hopes of "healing" quickly) with the initial results being vomiting and/or diarrhea. While this is not a side effect of the product, the results are unpleasant. In our holistic opinion, these signs show the product is working by waking up the body's natural ability to heal and purging toxins from the body but the dosage is more aggressive than the body can handle. For any of the previously mentioned conditions, we suggest the following beginning dosages:

• Small size animals = 1/2 capsule per day (1/4 morning +1/4 evening) for the first 5 days
• Medium and large size animals =  1.0 capsule per day (1/2 morning + 1/2 evening) for the first 5 days
• People = 1.0 capsules per day (with a meal) for the first 5-10 days

Hold this beginning dosage for the above time interval and increase incrementally at the same time interval if the body adjusts without any problems to this new superfood.

Emergency Cases

In emergency cases where the animal is not eating and death looks to be imminent, this could be accelerated to 1/2 capsule every 4 hours. One can mix the algae powder in 1/2 cup of water and administer with an eye dropper or syringe. Be careful not to squirt the water too far back into the throat or too forcefully, as to cause gagging. Our rule of thumb is, give as much as the body can tolerate without exacerbating the current symptoms or causing detoxing symptoms to appear.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS
There are no known contra-indications of using BioSuperfood or BioPreparation with any drug, vitamin, supplement, herb or homeopathic remedy. It is not a good idea to start a cleansing program at the same time you start taking a superfood product since it is very cleansing itself. Starting a colon-cleansing program or some detoxifying herbs at the same time as a superfood product could produce too much cleansing. With animals, it is not a good idea to introduce a new supplement at the same time as other dietary changes (e.g., food change). Do one thing at a time to monitor the results.

ANIMALS

Dogs and cats are carnivores and have a shorter digestive tract than humans. To compensate for this, BioPreparation is customized for animals using these unique manufacturing processes:

1. BP is freeze-dried at a lower temperature than BSF breaking it down more for quicker
   absorption in animals.
2. BP is ground to a finer powder than BSF for quicker assimilation by animals.

The above special manufacturing steps make BP more quickly absorbed and therapeutic for all animals (especially carnivores) hence the “+” symbol. We have found from our animal experience that BP-F2+ and F3+ are more therapeutic than their human formula counterparts. One dog was on 8 capsules BSF-F2 per day for an auto-immune disorder and went down to 6 capsules BSF-F2 after many months of progress. When BP came out in March, 2004, we used an animal communicator to determine the optimum dosage. Instead of four capsules BSF-F2 at that time, the dog only needed two capsules BP-F2+.

When deciding on an optimum dosages of BioPreparation remember to think homeopathically rather than allopathically. Do not dose strictly according to body weight or symptoms. A 100 lbs. animal does not necessarily need five times what a 20 lbs. animal needs. BP/BSF works by feeding and energizing the master glands of the brain (pineal, pituitary and hypothalamus). Once the master glands are balanced all the other secondary glands (e.g., thyroid, adrenal, thymus) and organs (e.g., pancreas, liver, kidney) heal themselves holistically. We are finding that after an animal/customer has been on BP/BSF a while the dosage and sometimes the formula (BP-F3+ down to BP-F2+) can be reduced due to the body healing itself holistically (unlike allopathic remedies that must be increased over time).

The best results for animals occur when one opens up the capsule and sprinkles the algae powder on the food. BP/BSF does not come in powder form only capsules. It is also better to spread the total daily dosage evenly throughout the day’s meals. We have found starting off with a pinch to 1/2 capsule per day is a good safe beginning. Animals are less likely to have an adverse effect and one can always increase from there. If an animal (or person) has an adverse first reaction, it is hard to change their first impression of the product and get them back on it. Since BP/BSF is so therapeutic, we don’t want to trigger a detoxing reaction or healing crisis at the start.

For any type of heart condition, irritable bowel symptoms and kidney or liver compromise we might suggest starting with the gentler human formula BioSuperfood (see PRECAUTIONS above). For any type of cancer we might suggest the more therapeutic BioPreparation for nutritional support. We use both the human and animal formulas according to the subject’s needs. We base our suggestions on our nutritional experience with the product and the animal’s age, weight and health history.

One of our case histories was a 60 lbs German shepherd mix, Baby Bear, with a mast cell cancer tumor on its paw. The tumor was reduced 50% after 15 days using just one pinch per day of BP-F3+ the first week and one-half capsule per day the second week. After ten weeks the tumor was virtually gone having increased the dosage to just one and a half capsules per day by the final week. We find listening to the owner and observing the animal, using an animal communicator, kinesiology muscle testing and one’s own intuition is far better than any dosage chart. We have animals and humans taking both BSF and BP according to their individual needs and circumstances. We, obviously, cannot prescribe or diagnose since we are not vets but we would be glad to share our nutritional experiences with you.

Here are some suggested dosages based on our nutritional experiences with the product:

DOGS
Start with one-quarter to one-half capsule BP-F2+ (depending on size) and work up to 1–2 capsules per day of BP-F2+ depending on body weight and health conditions. With more advanced degenerative conditions increase the number of capsules and/or use BP-F3+ accordingly. Giant breed dogs (have slower metabolism), especially those with arthritis (need constant nutritional support), might do better on the human formula, BioSuperfood, perhaps because it stays in their system longer. Experiment with giant breed dog.

CATS
Cats are a different story. We have one feline vet that mostly uses the human product BSF because she says the BP is too "hot" in the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) sense and tends to cause more detoxing in cats. One can prevent this by by using the anmial product, BioPreparatiom, but start out at a much more gradual dosage (e.g., one pinch per meal to start). Other vets use both products, BP or BSF, according to the animal’s needs. Since cats are notoriously picky eaters we suggest to our customers to start out with a pinch (for picky cats dip the end of one toothpick full) of BP in their favorite flavor of canned food. Mix the pinch in well so the mixture looks homogeneous. After one week (or so) the cat will adjust to the smell and taste and now one can start increasing the dosage gradually (two toothpicks full). In difficult cases, one can always use human tuna or tuna juice to entice the cat to eat the mixture. But be aware that regular feeding of human tuna depletes a cat of Vitamin E. Yes, some cats reject the BP laced food but persistence pays off. See cat hints for a list of how to successfully introduce BP/BSF to a finicky cat. Talk to your cat and explain this is a healthy addition to their food so that they won’t have to go to the vet as often when they get older and they can enjoy a healthy, longer life.

Cats — start with one pinch (for picky cats start with one toothpick full) BP-F2+ and work up to one-half to 1 capsule per day for a small to medium size cat. For large cats (18-20+ lbs.) one can work up to 1.5-2.0 capsules/day. With more advanced degenerative conditions increase the number of capsules and/or use BP-F3+ accordingly.

HORSES
Horses—1–2 capsules of BP-F2+ two to three times per day as standard maintenance. With more advanced degenerative conditions increase the number of capsules and/or use BP-F3+ accordingly.

SMALL ANIMALS—guinea pigs, gerbils, rabbits, ferrets, mice
Start out with a pinch (for tiny animals such as mice dip the end of one toothpick-full) of BP in their food. Hold this dosage for 3-5 days and if there is no adverse reactions (such as excessive detoxing), then gradually increase to 1/4 to 1/2 capsule per day depending on age, health condition and results.

BIRDS
Lightly sprinkle the algae powder on their food. Some birds have been reported to pick out the green algae specks because they instinctually know the algae is good for them.

AQUATIC ANIMALS—fish, frogs, turtles
Sprinkle the algae powder in the water.

How is BioPreparation (for pets) different from
BioSuperfood (for people)?

BioPreparation is not a people product with a smaller dosage and added liver flavoring for pets. BioPreparation is not a conglomeration of isolated vitamins, extracted ingredients, concentrated herbs and nutrients bound together and compressed with fillers in a pill. BioPreparation is a whole food product containing just two algae, two Spirulinas and nothing else. Remember, algae is native to all animal's and people's diet (i.e., sacred foods) in the wild. The manufacturer used extensive research to customize BioPreparation for maximum bioavailability and usability in all animals. The following  customize processes are used to make BioPreparation for animals:

• BioPreparation is freeze-dried at a lower temperature than BioSuperfood breaking it down for better assimilation in animals, since the digestive tract of carnivores (dogs and cats) is shorter
  than humans
• BioPreparation is produced in a finer powder for faster assimilation by animals

We know this works because of the fast results reported by our clients. Within one to four weeks some customers note their animal's coat has gotten silkier and shinier (from the Omega oils—no need for salmon and other oils). A mast cell cancer tumor disappeared on a dog's paw within ten weeks using only one pinch to 1.5 capsules per day (Cancer Results).

Technically, there is no reason why people cannot take BioPreparation and pets cannot take BioSuperfood. Both products have the same four ingredients. After 20 years of dedicated animal research, Dr. Kiriac has made BioPreparation more therapeutic and more quickly absorbed than BioSuperfood but this also means it is slightly more expensive per capsule than BioSuperfood. For that reason, most people choose to take BioSuperfood because it is more economical. We have some people who do take BioPreparation because they 'feel' more results. We have some pets (especially cats and giant breed dogs) that are reported do better on BioSuperfood because of its slower absorption rate. We let each individual determine what is best for their body and their animals according to the results they achieve. Tips on Using Partial Capsules

Here are some hints we've accumulated on opening up the capsules to sprinkle the algae powder on
pet's food:

1. Make sure you hands are clean and DRY. Twist the two halves of the capsule to break the heat seal.
2. Gently separate the two halves of the capsule by tilting the closed end of the capsule downward.
3. Now rotate one of the capsule halves 1/4 turn until just a pinch of algae powder falls out.
4. Gently put the two halves of the capsule back together.
5. Store the partially used capsule in a candy dish, bottle cap or pill container.
6. If some of the algae powder sticks to an 'empty' capsule, leave the two halves of the capsule together but leave the whole capsule out on the counter for at least 24 hours. After 24 hours, open up the two halves of the capsule and shake them pointing together downward to release the remaining powder in the capsules.

BioPreparation/BioSuperfood do not have to be refrigerated due to the superior freeze-drying technology used. Do not store BioPreparation/BioSuperfood near any heat source (e.g., stove, oven, heater vent), microwave oven, computer monitor, TV or in direct sunlight.
