Optimum
Choices is not housing these dogs and has no further information on them. We are
simply posting their pictures here as a service to the Misha May Foundation.
Please contact Lorraine May, executive director, for further information at
info@mishamayfoundation.org. Applications may be downloaded from the links
below and e-mailed to Lorraine.
Tragic: Out of every 10 families that
get dogs, only 4 families keep theirs beyond the first year. Misha
May is determined to change that, so we place a great deal of
importance on where each dog goes. We want to work with you for a
forever match. Please go to
http://mishamayfoundation.org/adopt.htm to read about our
adoption process and to complete an application. All dogs are in
foster homes. A completed application is required before you can
make a private appointment to meet a dog.
We are at the Lakewood Petco, near Wadsworth and Alameda across from Bel-Mar,
with some of our dogs, on the second Saturday of each month between
3-5:30pm. You can also go to our website events page,
http://mishamayfoundation.org/events.htm, to find other locations where
we will have our dogs up for adoption.
Adoption fees for dogs begin at $100.
We are always in need of foster homes, volunteers and donations of money
and supplies. Email
info@mishamayfoundation.org if you would like more information.
Bonnie
Bonnie is a 3 year old Pointer looking for
active loving people. Bonnie is a lovely girl with beautiful
markings. She was so filthy when she came to Misha May that we
thought she was a different color and perhaps a different breed.
Poor baby is settling in well and seems friendly with all
people. She has not been reactive toward other dogs even though
she was not spayed when found (she is now, of course). She has
definitely had puppies and may have lost them recently. Her
mood has lightened considerably with warmth, food, safety and
love! She is house trained and crate trained and very hearty.
She is in great shape, quite muscular and athletic. If you are a
runner, or active in some way, we are sure she can keep up! She
will require a nice yard with a secure fence so that she can
play and explore.
Diana
Diana is a young Australian Cattle Dog who
doesn't so much want to herd, as hug. She is probably best as
the only dog since she is happiest with all of your attention.
She is easy to get along with and will be up for anything that
seems fun to you. We don't know much of her story before she
came to a local rescue group, but we do know she is a love, has
lots of love to give and seems ready to have a friend.

Sooner
Purebred Chesapeake Bay Retriever, neutered male, 2
years old, 80 lbs.
HEY!! Any Chessie lovers out there?? If so, I'm YOUR
MAN!! I'm such a sweetie-pie. True to my Chessie nature, I
love to swim and fetch, and I LOVE TO CHASE BIRDS!! Just ask
me, "Where's the Bird?" and I'm on my way.
I love SOME other dogs (sweet females are my favorite)
but I would do best in a home without any children. I'm
smart, smart, SMART and need a new family that understands
and appreciates my breed.
Us Chessies are extremely bold and intelligent. Cuddling?
Car rides? I'm in! Come say Hi! I have excellent leash
manners to boot.
PS I am house-broken, of course.
Sooner has been my demo dog in Training Class. He is able
to focus beautifully. Keeping him calm and relaxed helps him
follow directions and demonstrate his sweet smart willing
nature. -Lorraine May
