Freedom From Illness Webinar—Nutritional
Analysis Invalid:
Nutrients vs. Benefits
Do
you buy supplements based on their nutritional analysis?
Did you value a product by how
many milligrams it has?
Do you buy a specific ingredient
to "fix" a specific symptom?
Attend this
FREE webinar to learn how all the above criteria does
not apply
to truly "wholistic" products. Buying a product
according to how many
milligrams of nutrients it contains can give one a false
sense of security.
Russell will share his approximately 60
years of holistic experience and
show you how to be less dependent on
isolated supplements that just
treat the
symptoms. An open Question & Answer session will follow
this short
lecture.
After
registering, you will receive an e-mail with the conference
telephone number, PIN (or instructions on how to use your computer
speakers/microphone) and web link to login. This Freedom From
Illness webinar is FREE, tell your friends, post it on
Facebook/Twitter.
Health Freedom Expo, Chicago
June 10-12, 2011
If you live in the Chicago area you
must take the opportunity to hear Dr. Roland Thomas (author of Awakening the Genius Within),
BioAge, in person.
Learn the most advanced concepts of true wholistic health from the
BioSuperfood
microalgae expert. Get answers to the following questions:
How can awakening the genius within
benefit my family and me?
What is the difference between stomach
food and brain food?
How can I buy less supplements, save
money and simplify my life?
After this weekend you'll understand how the
“genius within” restores homeostasis and stimulate more efficient cellular
regeneration. You will know more about cellular nutrition then 99% of
physicians and naturopaths with advanced degree. With the proven facts and
many examples, you will have the knowledge and confidence to use for
yourself, or recommend to your clients and loved ones this "new"
age principle of "let thy micro food be thy medicine".

Do you wish to learn more about what is truly holistic?
Do you want to know why we spell holistic with a "w"?
Do you want to know why we say 90-95% of everything advertised as
holistic is NOT?
Do you want to know why some so-called "holistic" supplements do not
work?
To find the answer to all these questions, go to Russell's new personal
blog "Wholistic
Answers" at
www.RussellLouie.com. Russell is blogging about the
wholistic lessons he learns in our wholistic practice, new scientific
research supporting holistic modalities and critical holistic news everyone
needs to know about (such as
Genetically Modified Organism food being served in fast-food restaurants
today).
SPECIAL NOTE:
Our cat, Iris, was diagnosed just before Christmas with
advanced intestinal lymphoma. Our holistic vet offered the following
options: Prednisone, chemotherapy, hospice care or euthanasia. We declined
all the above and chose to use only holistic methods. Read about Iris'
miraculous recovery (in progress) on Russell's blog:

The typical way to evaluate health products are to determine what active
ingredients there are and how much they contain, in order to gauge its
therapeutic effects. Both of these criteria may be suitable for drugs
and isolated supplements but are invalid for whole food products like BioSuperfood,
BioPreparation,
Seacure and
ALPHA-G.
When making a supplement, manufacturers depend on nutrient studies to
determine how much to include. If they do their homework, they will also
include all the complementary vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids
and many other nutrients that Nature said are needed to make this single
nutrient work. A good manufacturer will also take into consideration the
biological appropriateness of the nutrient. For example, some species
need the correct food source for a nutrient to be usable. Let us "wholistically"
look at all these criteria.
In order to determine the Minimum Daily Requirement (MDR), Recommended
Dietary Allowance (RDA) or therapeutic amount needed, studies typically
use isolated nutrients from a pure (often synthetic) source.
So,
they extract the nutrient from a whole food source (plant or animal) and
give the research subjects a variable amount of the single nutrient to
determine the MDR, RDA, therapeutic dosage and toxic level amount. In
our wholistic opinion, the conclusions would only apply if one used the
same single (synthetic) source as the study. This also does not take
into consideration all the complementary ingredients Nature dictated are
need to make a single nutrient usable. For example, the number of
milligrams of calcium absorbed in a glass milk were increased after
subsequent research showed including Vitamin D made calcium more
utilized. That is why milk is fortified with Vitamin D. In another
example, scientist found the acceptable
level for those with a sensitive stomach to acid could be increased if
buffering ingredients were also included in
Vitamin C supplements. But Nature already included these
buffering ingredients in whole food oranges. It is only when scientists
extract out the ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) that the buffering ingredients
are missing. So, why pay for vitamin fortification and for buffering
ingredients to be put back, if Nature already included these in whole
food products? The body needs less in milligrams (as determined by
research studies) of a nutrients if all the complementary and buffering
ingredients are also included in a truly "wholistic" product.
Another example is Vitamin A in animal food and supplements. Most
people are not aware but Vitamin A must come
from
an animal source for a carnivore to absorb it. So, any vegetable or
fruit source of Vitamin A is not utilized by carnivores (cats & dogs).
Read the label or ask the manufacturer what source of Vitamin A is used
in your pet's food and supplements. But our "wholistic" research does
not stop there. Most commercial meat used in dry kibble and canned food
is from animals that are grain-fed and feed-lot raised. They have little
exposure to a natural source of Vitamin A, namely Nature's sunshine and
green grass, and are therefore deficient in Vitamin A. To get a good
meat source of Vitamin A the animal must be grass-fed and
pasture-raised.
The whole point of our article is to warn you not to rely on just the
nutritional analysis or contents in milligrams of a nutrient on the
label when evaluating nutritional products. This is just supplementing
the symptoms. Ask questions as to what is the source of the vitamins.
Look to see if the complementary nutrients are also included for maximum
utilization. For more details on the shortcomings of nutritional
analysis, see our web page:
BSF-BP Nutritional Analysis.
As the old saying goes, "the proof of the pudding is in the eating".
If your isolated supplement is not providing all the benefits you
desire, then ask the following questions:
Is the original assumption of a single nutrient deficiency
correct? Conclusions based on a single lab test are often "wholistically"
inaccurate.
Is the nutrient source correct for the species and body? Humans
and animals often need different sources.
Are all the complementary ingredients needed included? Does your
product have the complementary vitamins, necessary enzymes, buffer
ingredients, etc. Nature dictated to make the nutrient work?
Based on the results in both people and pets in our holistic
practice, we see much better (and more permanent) results when the nutritional source is a
whole food product rather than an isolated vitamin, supplement or herb
designed to treat a single symptom. That is why Optimum Choices does not
sell isolated vitamins, supplements or herbs.
We have clients who say their blood (lab) test comes back normal or
they are taking a therapeutic dosage of a drug or supplement that is
supposed to balance their glands and yet they still have symptoms.
Holistically speaking, we think observed results are a better measure of
what is working (or not) than any nutritional analysis or
therapeutic dosage on a label. You be the judge based on your benefits
observed.
