The pet food recalls continue. The FDA has
expanded its investigation of the elevated levels of Vitamin D in dry dog
foods, which can be toxic and cause serious health problems.
01/31/2019 Hill's Pet Nutrition
voluntarily recalled select canned dog food products due to potentially
elevated levels of vitamin D. These recalled products were distributed to
retail stores and veterinary clinics nationwide. For more information, go to

Currently, there are eight brands and twelve
different diets that have been recalled. The FDA found an alarming 70 times
the intended amount of vitamin D. To learn more about this recall, please

The best "wholistic" suggestion to prevent
danger to your pet is -- STOP feeding dry kibble dog food. In our
"wholistic" opinion, dry kibble dog food is the least nutritious form of
food to feed a carnivore. Furthermore, a majority of all pet food recalls is
with dry food. Canned food, freeze-dried food and raw food have a much lower

The single biggest mistake people make with
our holistic
products
is, using the same rules for drugs and isolated supplements when
deciding to use our holistic products for themselves or their pet. This
is the second in a series of articles to uncover the differences in
drugs and isolated supplements versus our totally "wholistic" whole food
products. (For Mistake #1, see our January 2019 Tip newsletter). Drugs and isolated
supplements (like a Vitamin C pill or fish oil capsule) have high doses
of active ingredients to just treat the symptoms and get results
quickly. On the other hand, our truly "wholistic," whole superfood
products (BioPreparation,
BioSuperfood,
ALPHA-G and Seacure) are like oranges and salmon, which have thousands of
nutrients in small food-grade quantities to nourish ALL the glands and
organs of the WHOLE body. Whole
food products are the only products that are nutritionally
complete, the way Nature intended us and our pet's bodies to get our
nutrition, in order to regenerate new cells and rebuild gland and
organ functions. Isolated supplements just make the symptoms
better. Instead, whole food products regenerate and rebuild the body.
Benefits
cannot always be measured in numbers. While
a car and bicycle are both vehicles for transportation, one cannot
measure the benefits of a bicycle in miles per gallon for efficiency,
cubic inch displacement for engine power or in seconds for acceleration
from 0-60 miles-per-hour like a car. Those measures of benefits only
apply to gasoline (or diesel) powered vehicles, not bicycles. The same is true for
isolated supplements (and drugs) versus whole food products of oranges,
salmon and algae. While it is appropriate to measure benefits of drugs
and isolated supplements in milligrams (mg) or International Units (IU),
these measurements do not apply to whole food products. When deciding
what salmon to buy, would you ask the seafood clerk how many milligrams
of
Omega-3-6-9 oils in the specific choices of Atlantic, Chinook,
Sockeye, Coho or King Salmon? When you are sick and want more Vitamin C,
do you ask the produce manager how many milligrams of Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) are in the
different varieties of Valencia, Clementine, Navel, Blood or Heirloom
Oranges? Benefits from whole food products cannot be measured in
numbers.
Research shows that only 10-25% of
nutrients are actually absorbed and utilized from isolated supplements
(those
made in a laboratory) through the intestines by the body. On the other
hand 90-95% of nutrients from whole food products (such as our BioSuperfood, BioPreparation, Seacure) can be absorbed and utilized by
the body. So 75-90% of the benefits and your money from isolated
supplements is being flushed down the toilet or pooped out by your pet.
