The pet food recalls continue.
FDA Alert: Certain Lots of Pet Food from Multiple
Brands Recalled for Aflatoxin. From the FDA website:
specific pet food products manufactured by Sunshine Mills under several
brand names, may contain unsafe levels of aflatoxin. Aflatoxin is produced
by the Aspergillus flavus mold, which can grow on corn and other grains. At
high levels, aflatoxin can cause illness and death in pets. Symptoms may
include sluggishness, loss of appetite, vomiting, jaundice (yellowish tint
to the eyes or gums due to liver damage), and/or diarrhea. In severe cases,
this toxicity can be fatal. In some cases, pets may suffer liver damage but
not show any symptoms. Brands include, Family Pet Meaty Cuts®, Heartland
Farms®, Champ®, Field Trial®, Good Dog, Hunter’s Special®, Old Glory®, Paws
Happy Life®, Pet Expert, Principle, Retriever®, River Bend, Sportsman’s

Sunshine Mills, Inc. Expands Previously Announced
Voluntary Recall of Certain Pet Food Products Due to Potentially Elevated
Levels of Aflatoxin.
JANUARY 11, 2021 UPDATE: After
more than 70 dogs have died and 80 have gotten sick after consuming Sportmix
pet food, the FDA has expanded the pet food recall to all pet foods
containing corn manufactured by Midwestern Pet Foods. This food has an
expiration date on or before July 9, 2022. The updated list of recalled pet
food products (as of January 11, 2021) includes lots of the following pet
food products, if the date/lot code includes an expiration date on or before
"07/09/22" and includes "05" in the date/lot code, which identifies products
made in the Oklahoma plant:

Want to avoid all these recalls? The best "wholistic"
suggestion to prevent
danger to your pet is -- STOP feeding dry kibble pet food. In our
"wholistic" opinion, dry kibble pet food containing grains is the least nutritious form of
food to feed a carnivore. It is nutritionally equivalent to feeding
meat-flavored cookies to your child. Furthermore, a majority of all pet food recalls is

valuable to reflect on where we were one year ago:
On March 13, 2020, the President issued
the Proclamation on Declaring a National Emergency Concerning the
Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Outbreak.
States started to lockdown our communities
and economies.
Panic buying (hoarding) began.
Fear entered every aspect of our lives.
Uncertainty regarding our health and
future abounded.
Exactly one year later we see the following
events:
Multiple COVID-19 vaccines rolling out.
Peak hospital COVID-19 levels decreasing.
Some local communities are moving to safer
alert levels. Here in Jefferson Co., CO, we are going down to level
Blue.
Most people are learning to cope and live
under the new pandemic rules and stress.
Although some people have suffered
traumatic economic hardship, we do see the proverbial "light at the
end of the tunnel."
Have we conquered the COVID-19 virus? Are we
through the
global
pandemic? No, but we have made enough progress to have hope that
humanity may survive. Russell went through all the same panic,
uncertainty, forced lifestyle change, dramatic reduction in income and depression from

(Traumatic Brain Injury) in 2012. See if the following life

Get used to the "new normal," since there
is no turning back.
Learn to expect the unexpected with ease
and accept all disappointments with grace.
Take immune-enhancing and life-sustaining
priorities into consideration with every decision you make.
Develop maximum flexibility and
adaptability, otherwise we will become extinct, like the dinosaurs.
If one has faith that something is meant
to be, the resources will be there to make it happen.
With persistence every goal/dream
eventually can come true, just not in the way or in the time one
originally
imagined.
We need the ingenuity, inventiveness and
resources of ALL of humanity to survive/thrive through this COVID
pandemic.
