Do

Based on our Western
medical model, when given a choice people usually opt for the bigger
"hammer."
Most
people will choose the most potent, strongest remedy first in the hopes
of alleviating all their or their pet's symptoms quickly. If the first
antibiotic
did not work, give me a stronger one. If 50 mg did not work for my pet,
give them 100 mg/day. Based on our 90+ years of "wholistic" experience
we have found this "bigger hammer" approach is not always necessary and
sometimes produces undesirable results.
Symptoms and disease do not appear overnight. One does not "catch"
diabetes in 2-4 weeks. Chronic
Renal Failure (CRF),
as the name implies, does not suddenly develop. So is it reasonable to
expect the body to balance degenerative disease and eliminate
symptoms in 2-4 weeks from a holistic product? Even when
antibiotics eliminate the symptoms of an infection in 10 days does that
mean the body is totally "healed" and balanced so the infection will not
return? Here are two personal examples.
Connie (20 year old cat) had
severe arthritis that was not
responsive to any Western veterinary treatment.
No "holistic" supplements helped either. So we decided to try Metacam®, the only NSAID approved
for cats. Since cats’ livers lack some of the enzymes in more omnivorous
animals, such as dogs and humans, they have difficulty tolerating many
drugs. The Metacam® helped Connie tremendously—she was a different cat,
running around the house and in a good mood. Unfortunately, one of the
side effects of Metacam® is acute kidney failure and after 4 days,
Connie went into kidney failure. After 4 days of hospitalization and IV
treatment, she recovered but that was the end of using Metacam® because
she came home with Chronic Renal
Failure (CRF).
After she recovered, we continued searching for arthritis remedies that
Connie could tolerate but found nothing that worked and did not upset
her digestion. About the only things that helped Connie and were safe
were our whole food bio-algae
concentrates product and acupuncture. We learned that less is
more with cats and that the bigger hammers were potentially dangerous (Metacam®
can be fatal).
Iris, our 9 year old cat, stopped eating. When treatment for a
respiratory infection did not work further
tests
showed she had advanced intestinal
lymphoma (adenocarsinoma or cancer).
We declined chemotherapy
(click photo at left to hear our story of a second opinion) and instead tried Chinese herbs, a liquid
vitamin and mineral supplement, Maitake mushroom extract, polysaccharide peptide and bio-algae concentrates
products. While some of these remedies initially helped, most proved to
upset Iris’ digestion or had other harsh side effects. The only things
that were tolerable for her were our polysaccharide peptide and
bio-algae concentrate whole food products and homeopathy. 16 months
later Iris is still with us and has absolutely no symptoms of lymphoma

It is not always easy to understand or follow a “less
is more” philosophy in the face of a society that is
constantly offering solutions to fix what ails us or our pets. Even in
the holistic health world, the tendency is to push a multitude of
remedies and treatments. So how did these whole food products help when
drugs and supplements could not?
These whole food
products provided super nutrition that crossed the
blood/brain barrier

nourished cells rather than targeting individual
glands and organs
The whole food
products were literally brain food rather than
supplements which are stomach food
A practitioner did
not have to run expensive lab tests or guess
at the original cause of the symptoms or disease
The body's own
natural ability to heal was activated so the body
is doing the healing and not a product (supplement or drug)
Connie and Iris have taught us many lessons
about holistic pet care but perhaps their greatest gift is showing us
that the bigger hammer is not always needed. By the way, this same
philosophy can also apply to people. That is one reason why we prefer
the
safety of using whole food
products rather than isolated supplements, vitamins, herbs,
extracts and liquid concentrates.
Let me show you how this
shift from a Western medical model to a new "wholistic" paradigm works.

expensive lab tests or a doctor's/vet's exam. Look at all the money
and effort you are saving.
If the average client
takes 6 capsules/day and you or your pet are already seeing changes
at only ¼ capsule/day, then instead of a 180-capsule
bottle lasting only 1 month it will last 4 months. Look at all
the money you are saving and how economic the product is.
Your or your pet's
body has begun the liberating journey of healing from within.
